Have you ever attended the Hog Happenin' or watched a Barbeque cook-off on television and thought that the judges at these events had the best job in the world? Well they do. However, to get one of these coveted non-paying positions you have to become a Certified barbeque Judge. Lincolnton will be hosting its first official Barbeque judging class from 5-9pm on Friday, June 6th We have 3 spots left. Call today to confirm your spot.

Hot Air Balloon Rides
RE/MAX is one of the most recognized real estate brands and logos around the world. Rides will be provided on Friday night adjacent to the Farmers Market on West Water Street.

Stunt Bike Riders
Back by popular demand! Abe Morlu wow'ed the crowd last year with his stunting. This year we have two stunt riders for twice the wheelies, twice the stoppies and tons of acrobatics!!

Blessing of the Bikes
The Christian Motorcyclists Association's chaplin is available throughout the day to impart a personal blessing for you. At 6:00pm bikers can line up at the Events Stage and receive a blessing as they leave the event. After the blessing, CMA will offer the biker the CMA “I’ve been Blessed” sticker.
The Christian Motorcyclists Association is interdenominational and evangelistic in nature, dedicated to changing the world one heart at a time, reaching out primarily, but not exclusively, to the motorcycle community.
Information Booth
We've added an information Booth at the Main Entrance of the Event (Corner of Main and Cedar Streets (403 East Main Street) to have all your questions answered by knowledgeable volunteer event staff.
Festival Area Redo Take 2!!
Last year to accommodate space for over 100 vendors and cooking teams and a much larger beer garden event planners revamped the festival area to accommodate more people.
We've listened to your feedback and we are going to try again. ALL vendors will be back on Main Street or in the Food Court this year! The Bike Show and Poker Run Registration are back on East Main Street. The Special Events Stage is returns to its former location at Poplar Street and the Main Stage returns to N. Aspen Street--where it was the during the first happenin' .
Establish New Roots!
Finding a spot at the table in the The National Guard Eating Tent last year was difficult at times, but this year it will prove to be an even bigger challenge with the American Roots Music Stage so close. Listen to the sounds of blues, country, bluegrass, mountain, gospel, cajun and zydeco music while enjoying competition quality barbeque in the shade.
Not New But Worth Mentioning Again
Food Eating Competitions
We've brought in a pro for this year's Hog Happenin' competitive eating contests. Jamie-half of the "HungrySisters" duo and soon to be qualifier for the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International hot dog eating contest will be coordinating the event this year.
Watch out Joey Chestnut! Jamie's got your numbers 11 minutes and 67 dogs. While she's got her eyes on the mustard belt, she'll be awarding a 'bejeweled' hog trough as the prize to the winner in Lincolnton.
How fast can you eat a dozen hot dogs? A large pizza? A dozen HOT wings? A quart of ice cream? Enter your name in the drawing to be selected to compete. The competitions are on the Special Events Stage. Enter at the Main Stage and the Special Events Stage during the event. The drawing for participants will be at the contest time at the Special Events Stage. Competitons to be held on Friday and Saturday.
Sorry folks they'll be no "Gallon Challenge" in '08. Despite encouragement from event staff, Jamie wants you to keep your cookies!
Extended Stay Sites
We've added extended stay sites. They're a bit off the beaten path and on grass but they're only a little over 300 feet from the judging. Now you can come on Thursday or earlier and stay 'till Sunday or later. Call or email for Details! They were popular last year and now that they've been discovered-its katie bar the door.

Piglets Play Pen Kids Zone
We've expanded the Kid Zone this year too. In addition to the moonwalk, obstacle course and giant slide inflatables. We will have a rock climbing wall and other kids games. The area has moved to South Aspen Street to accommodate all the extra activities.
Bike Games
The bike games will be on North Aspen Street adjacent to the Main Stage--In an area fondly referred to by locals as the "hole". Be sure to get an upper level view of the burn-outs from the viewing area on Court Square.
Downtown Poker Walk
Five downtown businesses will participate in a poker walk for those without wheels. Poker WALK
50/50 Drawing
Hog Happenin' Volunteers will be selling tickets for a 50/50 drawing. Buy one or more for your chance to win.

The Downtown Development Association of Lincolnton is a 501 (c) 3 charity. So if you're impressed with our event and the work we've done downtown you can also make a tax deductible charitable contribution to the DDA of Lincolnton to support the Hog Happenin' and all of our other events and programs.
